This Wednesday (25), the market awaits the release of the Broad National Consumer Price Index 15 (IPCA-15), which measures the preview of the inflation officer of the Brazil. The expectation is for a rise of 0.29% in the September reading, compared to the 0.19% increase last month.

After the Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) highlight the importance of the “dynamic evolution of inflation, especially of the components most sensitive to economic activity and monetary policy” when raising the Selic to 10.75%, maximum attention will be on the performance of services and the preview cores.

Banco Daycoval says that services should show a sharper increase in the September IPCA-15, due to the rise in airline ticket prices.

“Last month surprised positively with a smaller increase in labor-intensive items. The expectation for this reading is that these items will once again put pressure on underlying services,” say the bank’s economists.

Overall, they expect the highlight to be deflation in the food at home item. “Although it loses a lot of strength compared to the previous month, it should continue to reflect the relief in food prices,” they say.

Another important highlight, according to economists, will be the increase in residential electricity in the administered group. “This upward pressure is due to the change in the tariff flag level from green to red 1”, they reiterate.
