As municipal elections 2024 is approaching and more than 155 million Brazilians will be able to go to the polls to choose their candidates. The first and second rounds will take place on October 6th and 27th, respectively.

When voting, there is an order in the electronic ballot box to designate the candidate. In municipal elections, the first vote is for the councilor.

The councilor's number is made up of 5 digits, the first two of which refer to the party, and the last three identify the candidate. It is worth remembering that before confirming the vote, the voter must make sure that the candidate's photo and name correspond to the chosen one.

Next comes the vote for mayor. In the case of candidates for mayor, the number is made up of two digits, being the same as the party the candidate is a member of.

In both options, the voter has the right to cast a blank vote. To do this, simply enter “00000” for councilor, or “00” for mayor.

Once the vote is confirmed, the electronic ballot box will record the choices and display a screen with the word “END”. If you want to train, Superior Electoral Court (TSE) provides a online platform that simulates the electronic ballot box.
