The minister Alexander de Moraesdo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF)determined this Saturday (21) that the social network X send the Court new documents to prove the reactivation of the company's legal representation in Brazil.
The measure was determined after X indicated this Friday the name of lawyer Rachel de Oliveira Villa Nova to act as legal representative in the country.
The submission was made to comply with the minister's order, which gave the company 24 hours to prove the reactivation of its representation in Brazil. The deadline ended at 9:29 p.m. yesterday.
In the new decision, Moraes stated that the delivery of the documents was not duly fulfilled and requested a copy of the original corporate powers of attorney granted by the social network to the lawyer and the brief report form issued by Sao Paulo Board of Trade. The delivery period is 5 days.
The minister also gave 48 hours for the Federal Revenue and the Banco Central inform the company's registration status in Brazil and for the Federal Police and National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) send a report on the possibility of using other technological means to access the network.
Within the same period, the STF judicial secretariat must update the value of the fines owed by X due to several failures to comply with court decisions issued by Moraes.
Last month, the minister took X offline after the company closed its Brazilian office. Having a headquarters in the country is a mandatory condition for any company to operate in Brazil.
On August 17, the billionaire Elon Muskowner of the social network, announced the closure of the company's headquarters in Brazil after the network was fined for refusing to comply with the order to remove profiles of those investigated by the Court for publishing messages considered antidemocratic.
