O Market Payment launched a CDB which yields up to 150% of CDI (Interbank Deposit Certificate). The product is available in the digital bank's app until September 20th only.
The offer is part of the actions for the program “Estrela da Casa”, a musical reality show on the Globo network, which Mercado Pago is the sponsor of, and aims to “include more Brazilians in an investment journey”.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to making the investment universe more accessible and continuing to offer simple, safe and profitable financial products for all customer profiles, especially for those who are starting their journey in this universe,” highlights Ignacio Estivariz, vice president of digital banking at Mercado Pago in Brazil.
According to a survey conducted by them in partnership with the Brazilian Institute of Research and Data Analysis (IBPAD) in July of this year, 78% of Brazilians have some resources available to invest and 20% said they can invest up to R$50 per month. The survey also revealed that for 1 in 3 people interviewed, the main reason for not investing is lack of knowledge.
“These numbers show the importance of widely communicating accessible products, with a simple and educational experience, that allow anyone to start investing”, comments Ignacio Estivariz.
The product has been available on the Mercado Pago app since the 17th and has a three-month application period for new investors, that is, customers who will invest for the first time through the digital bank's app. The minimum investment amount is R$1 up to a maximum of R$3,000, with daily liquidity.
It is worth remembering that this type of investment is eligible for the guarantee offered by Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC).
