The Broad National Consumer Price Index 15 (IPCA-15) rose 0.13% in September, shows the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) this Wednesday (25). The number indicates a slowdown in relation to the 0.19% increase recorded in August.
The preview of inflation came well below market expectations, which pointed to an increase of 0.29%, according to the Investing.com.
The IPCA-15 has accumulated an increase of 3.15% up to the ninth month of the year and 4.12% in 12 months. Last month, these figures were 3.02% and 4.35%, respectively.
The index's one-year accumulation remains close to the inflation target ceiling, but still within the range pursued by Banco Central in 2024. The target is 3%, with a tolerance of 1.5 percentage points up or down.
