The increase comes amid expectations of a inflation unanchored, from the deterioration of political sentiment fiscal and the American election on the radar. Copom members opted for caution in conducting monetary policy in the country.
Thinking about this new maintenance scenario, the Money Times asked W1 Capital to simulate how much a single investment of R$1,000 would yield, over a year, in the products of fixed income.
The calculation already takes into account the net profitability, that is, discounting the Income Tax on the products for which the deduction is made.
How much does R$1,000 yield over a year in fixed income, after the Selic rate hike?
One of the best-known investments in the country, savings accounts currently yield 6.17% per year + reference rate. Therefore, the R$1,000 will be worth, in a year, R$ 1.071,07.
With the Selic rate at 10.75% per year, the final net balance would be R$ 1.086,47.
For the Treasury IPCA+, the simulated rate was IPCA + 6.16%, with inflation at 4.30%, resulting in a final net balance of R$1,084.08.
In the CDB, the economist evaluated a security with a profitability of 110.00% of the CDI, therefore the final balance is R$ 1,096.65.
If the investor is willing to seek a slightly higher return and is willing to take risks, Fonseca simulated R$1,000 in LCI (Real Estate Credit Letters) and in LCA (Agribusiness Letters of Credit).
For the calculation, the simulated rate was 93% of the CDI and would yield R$99.05. As the application is exempt from Income Taxthe final balance would be R$ 1.099,05 after a year.
