Nas 2024 elections, São Paulo there are ten candidates for mayor of the city: Altino Prazeres (PSTU), Bebeto Haddad (DC), Datena (PSDB), Guilherme Boulos (PSOL), João Pimenta (PCO), Marina Helena (NOVO), Pablo Marçal (PRTB), Ricardo Nunes (MDB), Ricardo Senese (UP) and Tabata Amaral (PSB).
According to the Datafolhathree days before the vote, Boulos, Nunes and Marçal were technically tied within the margin of error — plus or minus two percentage points.
The PSOL candidate, who received 26% of the votes in Datafolha, has Marta Suplicy (PT) as vice-president and has the support of President Lula (PT). In 2020, Boulos went to the second round in the dispute for city mayor against Bruno Covas (PSDB), who was re-elected, and, two years later, he was elected deputy.
Nunes, with 24% of voting intentions, has Ricardo Mello Araújo (PL) as vice-president. The MDB candidate is seeking re-election, after taking office in May 2021 with the death of Covas, whose deputy he was. Nunes was a councilor between 2013 and 2020.
Finally, the PRTB candidate, also with 24% of intentions, has Antônia de Jesus (PRTB) as vice-president. Marçal was a candidate for deputy in 2022 and received 243,029 votes, but his candidacy was invalidated due to irregularities on the part of the party leadership — at the time, he was a member of the Pros.
Already, among councilors, São Paulo has 1015 candidates in the 2024 elections.
