The current mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes (PSD), was re-elected as mayor until 2028. When 88.58% of the ballots had already been counted, Paes had 60.13% of voting intentions, displacing Alexandre Ramagem (PL) and Tarcísio Motta (PSOL), who had 31 .2% and 4.16% of the votes, respectively.
In the latest Datafolha poll, Paes had 61% of the votes, followed by 24% by Ramagem and 7% by Tarcísio Motta.
No Rio de Janeirovoters had 9 candidate options and 1028 councilors to vote for. Of this total of 1028, the locals chose 51 councilors.
