There are just a few days left until the arrival of municipal elections 2024. The first and second rounds will take place on October 6th and 27th, respectively. A question raised by voters for the Electoral Justice is: “I didn’t register biometrically. Can I still vote?”
In a short answer: yes, it is possible to vote in the 2024 Municipal Elections even without biometrics registered with the JE. However, there are some details that voters should pay attention to.

If the voter does not have biometrics, they must take a photo ID to their polling station. However, if there was a call for a voter review with the aim of collecting biometrics and the voter did not appear at the registry office, the title may be cancelled.
If this is the case, the citizen will not be able to vote and will suffer the consequences of the cancellation of the electoral card. According to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE)until the situation is regularized with the Electoral Court, the voter is prevented from:
- Register for public competitions;
- Receipt of wages, remuneration, salary or benefits from a public function or employment;
- Obtaining loans from credit institutions maintained by the government;
- Obtain a passport or identity card;
- Renewal of enrollment in official educational establishments;
- Obtain a certificate of electoral discharge for candidacy registration purposes;
- Obtain a certificate of regular voting, justification or payment of the fine in the last round of the last election;
- Obtain any document from diplomatic offices to which it is subordinate or subordinate;
- Performing any act for which discharge from military service or income tax is required.
