The assessment that the economy Brazilian worsened in the last 12 months increased, according to the survey carried out by Brilliant/That's it in September and released this Wednesday (2).

Of the 2,000 respondents, 41% say the economy has worsened, compared to 36% recorded in the July survey. On the other hand, the improvement assessment also advanced, going from 28% to 33%.

The assessment that recorded a drop was that the economy stayed the samefalling from 32% to 22%.

In the last month, the perception of an increase in the prices of fuels rose from 44% to 59%, followed by water and electricity bills (from 61% to 64%). Already the food had a drop in prices, according to 65% of those interviewed, compared to 70%.

It is worth remembering that the preview of the Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA-15) rose 0.13% in September, according to data from Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The number indicates a slowdown in relation to the increase of 0.19% in the inflation preview calculated in August.

The IPCA-15 accumulates an increase of 3.15% until the ninth month of the year and 4.12% in 12 months. In the previous month, these numbers were 3.02% and 4.35%, respectively.

Positive assessment of the Lula government falls

The survey also shows that the government's positive assessment Lula fell last month, from 36% to 32%. Regular and negative evaluations rose from 30% to 33% and 31%, respectively.

When compared with the government of Jair Bolsonaro38% of those interviewed say that the PT's management is better — a drop of 13 percentage points compared to the July survey.

The assessment that the government is the same as the former president's jumped from 8% to 22%, while the assessment that it is worse fell from 36% to 33%.

Methodology

The survey carried out by Genial/Quaest interviewed in person, between the 25th and 29th of September, 2 thousand Brazilians aged 16 or over. The margin of error is 2 percentage points, plus or minus.
